Seven tips to help parents educate children in the home.

Educate Kids at Home

Home schooling is not for every family. But every parent is a master at home. As homeschooler for a long time, now with a teenager, I have learned a lot about learning, my son and I. Here are some tips to help each family teach children at home.

1-Minimize Storage:

It is important to know how to find an answer to know. With facts and anecdotes in hand, children should learn to search the Internet, use an index and have a phone and ask.

2-Encourage mistakes:

Even though my son always suggest reviewing his class work, I still mark the mistakes of my student. Is not that the way to learn? Encourage your child to try new things and do their best, it is not "perfect."

3-Let them Talk:

An important life experience is the ability to engage people of all ages in the conversation. Let your child leave the waitress his order, ask the librarian for help, and develop a firm and traditional handshake.

4-Homework Help:

Not enough to check homework. Sometimes, sit down with your child to see how you organize essays, calculate math or read literature. Talk about what you learn and how you put your answers.

5-Learning Locals:

Recession aside, visiting local places gives children a better sense of their place in the world. History happens everywhere. Share your childhood favorite or explore something new together.

6-Think long term:

a failed test or failing grade is not likely to make or break your child's academic career. Share your failures. Maintain perspective. It is best to encourage learning throughout the life force of a semester average.

7-Watch them play:

not only at organized sporting events but also when your child is just hanging out with friends. Do you laugh and smile? Are you comfortable in your own skin? He can be seen, but let his son be himself.
